This is a great recipe for clearing the body of toxins. The combination of beans, garlic and cumin is a powerhouse for detoxification, and the black beans pack a high fiber punch. What that means for you, dear readers, is that this recipe is great for swimsuit season! Plus, it's so simple to make, you could be enjoying it within minutes. Which means no excuses for unhealthy appetizers on your table this summer! Whip some of this up for your next gathering, or just as a snack for yourself.
Hint: I love adding chunks of avocado to this.
- 2 cups canned black beans, rinsed and drained
- 1 cup mild chunky salsa (I love mango salsa)
- 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
- 1 tsp. freshly squeezed lime juice
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. cracked pepper
- 1/4 tsp. cumin
Combine all Ingredients in a large bowl. I like to add chopped cilantro and crumbled feta. Serve with corn or other multigrain chips, or pita bread.
