Boom! Crack! Let's Decorate.

Happy Independence Day, darlings. The 4th of July is one of my favorite holidays to get festive and entertain. As a matter of fact, I am sliding in today's post as we have friends in from the West Coast. Where will you be viewing the fireworks this year? Our favorite spot happens to be on Navy Pier, Chicago.

Whether you live in the city or the suburbs, it's quite easy to add red, white and blue touches to your home while maintaining a level of sophistication and fun for your guests. Celebrating America is probably the easiest to scour pieces for; they're everywhere! And, like the holidays, I add a few pieces to my collection each year which has now become an abundance of Americana!

First things first...buy an American Flag. Be it vintage, brand new or an heirloom...wave your American Flag proudly! Secondly, be the hostess with the mostess and don your best holiday wear. (I love this Michael Kors number!)

Punch up any room with the following accessories:

  • red and blue glassware
  • red, white and blue flatware (I found a collection from Home Depot for $58 below!)
  • red, white and blue roses or carnations
  • festive throw pillows
  • festive cloth or paper napkins
  • patterned paper straws

Shop my favorite picks below & have a wonderful 4th of July!
