Holiday Cranberry Dip

Cranberry Cream cheese dip

By: Linda Edson

My family loves seafood, and one of our favorite appetizers is a shrimp dip we call “blood and guts,” a layered dip that uses cream cheese, cocktail sauce, and cocktail shrimp. It’s great for holiday gatherings, or just as a treat for your family. A few years ago I discovered a different way to make this dip that doesn't include shrimp but is more festive for the holidays. This recipe uses my honey - cranberry sauce recipe. I usually just use the leftover cranberry sauce from Thanksgiving.

  • Leftover cranberry sauce (about 1 cup)
  • 2 8 oz. packages cream cheese, softened
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • 1 ½ tsp. vanilla
  • 1 tsp. pumpkin pie spice

In a mixer, combine cream cheese, sour cream, vanilla, and spices. Spread in small round casserole dish. Spread cranberry sauce on top. Serve with crackers or fruit for dipping.
