Pulled Pork Sandwiches

By: Nancy Schectman

One day I had a taste for a pulled pork sandwich, something I will readily splurge on. I had never even thought to buy a pork shoulder but figured it couldn’t be too different than Smoked Pulled Brisket. Turned out absolutely fantastic and it’s easy! Make early in the day to allow for cooking time.

  • 1 Pork Shoulder
  • 3 onions, halved
  • 2 stalks celery
  • 6 to 8 cloves garlic
  • 1 bottle Dos Equiis beer
  • 1 bottle K.C. Masterpiece BBQ Sauce, reserve ¾ cup
  • 6 Kaiser rolls

Preheat oven to 350’.

Place all ingredients except ¾ cup barbecue sauce in pan. Cover with foil. Bake 4 hours. Remove foil; cool. Pull pork into shreds; add remaining barbecue sauce. Put on buns. Serve.

Sweet pickle slices are a terrific accompaniment or, as I do, put them right on the sandwich.
