St. Patrick's Day is this Friday, March 17. I thought this was worth mentioning today because I know we Grandmothers are often looking for creative little ways to say "I love you" to Grands both near and far; St. Patrick's Day is a fun opportunity to do so!
If you're lucky enough to live near your grandchildren, what a perfect opportunity to offer to watch the Grands while your adult children go out and drink some "green beer."
If you're not near your Grands, there are so many adorable and affordable gifts you can send and, best of all, there are so many fun sentiments that can be shared with a St. Patrick's Day theme.
A few ideas...
- I am so "lucky" to have you.
- You are the pot of gold at the end of my rainbow!
- You’re a sweet little lad with a golden heart, too. Hope that all of your wishes do, indeed, come true! Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
- A sweetie like you deserves every bit of gold that you can get. Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
I found St. Patrick's Day ideas that range from ultra cheap – – think Lucky pennies – – to gifts that require less than $20 to complete. I've also rounded up treats from healthy -- this rainbows of fruit -- to yummy, like green cookies and rainbow candies.
Pick and choose what's best for you and your Grands! And, when it comes to treats, a word of advice: Follow Mommy's mantra when gifting kiddos. If Mom says not to giving her children sugar, follow suit! The good news is that there are plenty of healthy options, too.
And, if Mom doesn't have a problem with an occasional indulgence, there are fabulous options to be found as well.
Plus, as a fringe benefit, many of these ideas can be done as crafts with the kids if you're looking for an activity to do with your Grands. For faraway Grands, create these gifts and send them as a way to let them they are always close... to your heart.
