Sweet and Sour Wings

By: Nancy Schechtman

During the "dog-days of summer", it can be hard to feel motivated to do much cooking, let alone prepare appetizers for a family gathering. This recipe is simple enough that you can make it even in your sunny stupor. Not to mention you won't have to spend much time in the kitchen to prepare it. Cooking cannot be easier than this.

  • 24 chicken drumettes
  • 2 10-oz. jars duck or plum sauce
  • ¼ cup soy sauce
  • ¼ cup dry sherry
  • Orange slices for garnish

Preheat oven to 350. Season drumettes with salt and pepper; bake 30 minutes, basting once with pan juices. Combine duck sauce, soy sauce and sherry. Remove chicken from oven; spoon half of sauce over drumettes. Bake until chicken is golden and crisp, 15 minutes longer.

Serve on platter garnished with orange slices. Pass remaining sauce.
