Journaling is the key to a happy life. Now, why would I say that? For many, understanding what gets them out of bed each morning is tied to their motivation to journal and reflect. Because journaling opens up your emotions, makes you spill your thoughts and feelings onto a page. Journaling helps you process trauma, bad feelings, good feelings and allows you to write down your hopes and dreams. The act of journaling is also about thinking deeply and being introspective about your life.
Journaling is what started me on my way to creating Honey Good many years ago, and I would have never thought writing down stories would turn into a wonderful business with beautiful readers from all over the world. Remember, sharing your word and your story can inspire and connect with others.
The reason why I bring this up today is that the world is in turmoil and there is so much bad news. I know many people are upset and stressed, and it’s hard to remain positive. That is why I will suggest journaling time and time again. Trust me, it will help. Get out all of your bad feelings and make sure to also write your good feelings, too. Where there is dark, there is also light. Please let me know if you try it.
Now, on to my Weekend Musings…

3-minute Mindful Breathing Meditation
Did you know that one of the reasons we have so much anxiety and so much stress, is that we forget to breathe? Yes, breathe. That is why so many times when we are scared, people tell us to take deep breaths. Breathing is the way to calm the body, the mind, the soul, and the heart.
However, a lot of times breathing is not easy. We get caught up in our daily lives and the stress of work and the current world. Our brain forgets we need to breathe at a nice even pace and take a moment to stop and unwind. If this resonates with you, check out this great 3-minute mindful breathing meditation that I found on YouTube. It will help!

Morning Routines for a Fulfilling Life
There’s something truly magical about the way we start our mornings—it sets the tone for the rest of the day and, in many ways, for our entire life. I’ve found that a thoughtful morning routine brings so much joy, not just to me, but to everyone in the family. Whether it’s a quiet cup of coffee before the kids wake up, a few minutes spent journaling, or simply taking time to stretch and breathe, these small rituals help us connect with ourselves and the world around us.
On weekends, when the pace slows down a bit, I love watching how folks savor these moments—maybe it’s making pancakes together, sharing stories at the breakfast table, or just enjoying the peace of a new day. Taking time for yourself in the morning, even if it’s just a few minutes, can make all the difference. It’s a chance to start fresh, set intentions, and fill your heart with joy before the week’s busyness begins. I encourage you to find those little things that make your mornings special and let them be the foundation for a fulfilling, joyful life.
Time Management and Productivity
Finding balance in life often comes down to how we manage our time. I’ve learned that starting each day with a clear intention brings so much joy and helps me make the most of every moment. Whether it’s jotting down a quick to-do list or simply taking a few minutes to plan, these small habits can set a positive tone for the rest of the day. Effective planning is essential not only for productivity but also for personal growth, helping us develop strategies to achieve our goals and build a more sustainable routine. Remember, it’s not just about getting things done—it’s about taking time for yourself, too. Regular breaks, a bit of self-care, and celebrating even the smallest accomplishments can make a world of difference. As we continue to explore ways to boost productivity, I’ll be sharing more tips and stories to help you start your day with purpose and keep taking steps toward your goals. Let’s make time work for us, and fill our days with joy and meaning.
Staying Organized: Simple Strategies for a Clutter-Free Life
A clutter-free space can do wonders for your peace of mind and your ability to enjoy life to the fullest. I know how easy it is for things to pile up—especially when the week gets busy with work, family, and all the little things that demand our attention. But I’ve learned that taking just a bit of time each day to stay organized can help you move forward with clarity and purpose.
One of my favorite strategies is to keep a running list of tasks, prioritizing what truly matters so I can focus on what brings me joy. I also love the “one touch” rule: when something comes into your hands, deal with it right away—whether it’s a piece of mail, a dish, or a phone call. This simple habit keeps clutter at bay and frees up more time to spend with loved ones, enjoy the weekend, or simply relax. As we continue to learn and grow, finding new ways to stay organized helps us adapt to life’s changes and make room for all the wonderful things yet to come. Remember, darling, a tidy space is a gift you give yourself—one that brings peace, order, and so much joy to your days.
End of Summer Book Recommendations
I know that all of us love a good book. In fact, our GRANDwomen with Moxie! Facebook group is starting a book club soon. So if you are interested, make sure you head on over to Facebook and join. We are a wonderful group of women who would love to have you join us! As well, every month we compile a list of member recommended books and share it with the group. It’s wonderful.
Speaking of those book recommendations, last week I put together a list of end of summer book recommendations that included books I adore, the books recommended by GRANDwomen group members, and even some books written by myself and HG team members. It’s a great list with so many wonderful types of novels. Make sure to check it out!
Read it, HERE.

Delish Breakfast Dishes
Do you love cooking breakfast every morning or maybe just on the weekends? If you’re like me, you cook your partner breakfast every morning with a lovely cup of coffee. And, if you do love breakfast, I’m sure you’re always looking for new breakfast recipes or things to try. Not many people love eating the same exact thing every day! Most of us enjoy at least a little bit of variety. Food brings people together and is one of the simple pleasures to enjoy, especially on weekends.
So, darling, I went on a YouTube adventure to find some breakfast recipes to share with you. Below you’ll find a video of Caulifower Breakfast Muffins…yum! But if you , you’ll find a bunch of videos with a variety of dishes for you to try. Happy cooking and eating!
Technology and Innovation
Every week, it seems like there’s something new in the world of technology—an app, a gadget, or a report that promises to change the way we live and work. I find it fascinating how these innovations can bring us closer together, help us learn new things, and open doors to opportunities we never imagined. Whether I’m reading about the latest trends or watching a live demonstration online, I’m always eager to see how technology can enhance our lives. Staying informed and embracing change allows us to move forward with confidence, making the most of what each new development has to offer. As we continue to explore this ever-evolving landscape, I’ll be sharing insights and stories about how technology is shaping our world—and how we can all learn, adapt, and thrive.
Travel and Exploration
There’s nothing quite like the joy of packing a bag and setting off to explore somewhere new, even if it’s just for the weekend. Travel has always been a unique opportunity for me to learn about different people, taste new foods and drinks, and collect stories that I love to share. Each journey, whether near or far, brings a fresh perspective and a chance to connect with the world in meaningful ways. I’ve found that some of my most cherished memories come from these adventures—meeting new folks, trying local delicacies, and discovering hidden gems. Over the years, I have travelled to many places, and each experience has shaped my perspective and contributed to my personal growth. As I share my travel experiences, I hope to inspire you to plan your own adventures, embrace the unknown, and celebrate the beauty of exploration. Let’s continue to learn from the world around us and share the stories that make our lives richer.
Entertainment and Leisure
In the midst of our busy lives, it’s so important to carve out time for the things that bring us joy. Whether it’s curling up with a good book, watching a favorite movie, or simply spending time with loved ones, these moments of leisure are what make life truly special. I believe in celebrating the little things—reading a new story, taking a walk in the yard, or enjoying a cozy evening with family. Entertainment and relaxation aren’t just luxuries; they’re essential for our well-being and happiness. Living fully in the present is essential for happiness and well-being, allowing us to truly experience and appreciate each moment. As we continue to explore the world of leisure, I’ll be sharing my favorite books, activities, and ways to unwind. Let’s make it a point to live in the moment, appreciate the beauty around us, and fill our days with laughter, love, and lots of joy.
Stories and Strategies
Life is a beautiful journey, but it’s not without its bumps in the road. We all face challenges—some big, some small—and it’s the way we respond that shapes our story. I’ve found that looking beyond the surface of a problem and understanding the story behind it can bring so much insight and joy. Sometimes, just listening to the experiences of others—family, friends, or even folks we meet along the way—can help us see things in a new light and move forward with hope.
When I’m faced with a tough situation, I remind myself that every challenge is an opportunity to learn and grow. Reaching out for support, sharing my experiences, and being open to advice has helped me overcome obstacles and find joy even in difficult times. As we travel through life, let’s remember to celebrate our resilience, listen to each other’s stories, and keep moving forward together. Every experience, good or bad, adds a new chapter to our lives and brings us closer to the people and things we love.

I journal every day to my dead husband. I write as though he were still here and talk to him. I tell him about my day, share the good in my life but, most importantly, I tell him about my fears and anxieties and how much I miss him. I try to think of what he would say to me. He was my rock and could always make me feel better. When I imagine his response, I write it down. It never fails to calm me down. I lost my husband on March 1 of this year and began “writing” to him the following week. I think I’ll keep this habit for the rest of my life.
I know how you are feeling. I am glad you found an outlet. You will be amazed at how healing and self reflective journaling becomes. Please do keep the habit the rest of your life and maybe over time you will add other interesting observations. Sending my condolences. Warmly, Honey
Thank you for your informative helpful suggestions.
