Declare Your Visibility Beautifully This Fall
Fall is here and soon winter, dear readers. The city is bursting with warm colors, its residents bustling with excitement for cooler weather and all the renewal fall brings. The mums will soon be in bloom along Michigan Avenue and if you have never seen them, they are simply stunning. They pop their little heads up one day quite unexpectedly as if it is their job to announce the arrival of the new season.
Today, I’m going to touch on fall trends, starting with beauty, and finishing with a dash of style.
Trends in Bloom
I certainly understand that at this stage of our lives, we are not slaves to what others say is of-the-moment. Fair enough. And yet, I encourage you to look at what is happening in fashion + beauty and to glean inspiration from it.
When we stop growing, we wilt and die. Much like those lovely mums, I challenge you to declare to the world… Fall is here and we are visible and vibrant women! Watch us bloom!
The Trend: Rich & Bold
Le Marc Lip Creme Lipstick
Bold and feminine lip colors are making the rounds on runways this fall. A rich, creamy lipstick that redefines luxury with instant indulgent color while providing 10 hours of wear, this flattering hue of maroon is a romantic shade that won’t disappoint.
Your lips will feel instantly plumped and nourished from powerful peptides, antioxidant-rich seaberry, and natural humectants, including meranti and cocoa butter. Its subtle vanilla taste and scent mimic a decadent dessert. And who doesn’t love dessert all day long, darlings?

The Trend: Two-Toned Manicures
When choosing tones for your two-tone mani at home or at the salon, make sure to choose two colors in the same color family, typically ones that are about 2-3 shades apart. If the colors are too close, you won’t be able to see the contrast, and if they’re too drastically different, your mani won’t look cohesive.
Also, sticking with two solids tends to be a good idea; I usually love a good shimmery polish, but in this case, the less variation the better!
What two colors would you choose?
The Trend: Bold Brows
Bold brows have been a huge trend for many seasons now and it looks like the trend continues. And, why not? Generous brows tend to be much more flattering than those that are pencil-thin.
As I’ve written previously, good eyebrows, ones that add structure and definition to our faces, can be attained at any age.
The problem with many of us at 50+ is that we went a bit crazy back in the day with eyebrow plucking. Not to worry, dear readers, over-plucked (or over waxed) brows can be fixed. Need to fix yours? Read my story about the best brows after 50 here.
The Trend: Fun (And Functional) Handbags
Are you in the market for a new handbag? I know I always am, but it must also be the right fit! What do I mean?
My handbags play a dual role in my life. I have them for practicality and style!
I buy handbags that can hold everything that is important to me. Additionally, I buy handbags that I can wear day or night. I buy handbags that are appropriate for many pieces of my wardrobe, and I buy bags I can use for all seasons.
Plus, all of my handbags reflect my style!
Do you dare sport any of these fall trends? I would so love to hear your thoughts in the comments section below.
