Being a woman over 50 is a wonderful privilege. We are at such a dynamic age, and that was more evident to me than ever as I was looking back through this week’s marvelous stories on HoneyGood and your responses to them, especially on Facebook!
As women over 50, we must be willing to accept change, to overcome challenges, to remain curious, and to keep doing and wearing whatever it is that helps us to feel our best! But through it all, we continue to be strong, amazing women, and that is something to celebrate! Thank you for coming along on this journey with me.
The Week in Review…
Moving After 50 & Living on Less
Some of you know my husband, Shelly, and I are thinking about moving away from the ‘desert of California’ to the ‘Sea of Somewhere.’ When we made the decision to put our home on the market in order to live near the Sea, it never entered my mind that making new friends would be difficult.
But when you are moving after 50, the spin on life takes on a new approach. You are now retired and living on less, you are empty nesters and you no longer ‘hang out.’ Meeting people isn’t always easy and often times is uncomfortable. But before you dismiss the thought altogether, read my thoughts on how to approach moving after 50 for both introverted and extroverted women.
Roses are Red
Love was also in the air this week as another Valentine’s Day gave us the opportunity to show the ones we care about just how much they mean to us. To me, love is what you feel and what you give, but I think my ultimate concierge put it best when he said, “You are all around me.” That is the deepest form of love.

Feeling Beautiful Inside & Out
This week I also shared some life-changing beauty products and must-have shoes for those of us after 50. This wasn’t your run-of-the-mill list of new beauty items, this was a run to the store and get these because they will change your life kind of list.
But no matter what items are in your makeup bag, always remember that beauty starts from within so before you look to a new mascara or a bold lip to change how you feel about you, please make sure you are tending to your soul, your dreams, your desires. We may be over 50 but we have countless days to enjoy — make them count and you will feel beautiful, inside and out!
Stay Curious
Finally, this week I challenged you to be curious, darlings, to not fear opening a new door, even if it leads to the unknown. You don’t want to look back with regret, and you don’t want to look forward to nothing. As I’ve mentioned before, there are many benefits to being a curious woman after 50, and now is as good a time as any. I encourage you to have curious conversations and to try new things. Now is your time! Read here for more advice on being bold and taking those risks.
