The Law of Attraction
I wonder how many of you know what the Law of Attraction means. I did not know until a few days ago. A Positive Psychologist, Barbara Becker Holstein is a contributor to Honey Good. Though we have never met we have become more than mere acquaintances. We don’t speak or email often but when we do, there is a strong connection between us.
I admire and respect her and have learned through my musings and her knowledge as a trained Positive Psychologist, the positive power of each one of us. A GRANDWOMAN with moxie never stops questioning and searching for new answers that will improve her life. I believe The Law of Attraction can change how you see all situations in your life. I wonder how many of you will Google Law of Attraction? I hope everyone.

G Asks:
Dear Honey,
Giving myself time away from the routines of my days has been challenging for me. To find the right motivation to get results in many things. I want too but find it difficult to get through because I cannot begin.
– G
Dear G,
“I cannot begin” are the words you use to describe why you are not motivated to giving yourself time away from your routine. When you hear those words in your head, “I cannot begin” how could you possibly feel motivated to giving yourself time away from your routine?!? You are allowing yourself to be controlled by the Power of Negativity instead of the Power of Positivity. No wonder you are stuck. I would be, too.
How do you get out of a negative state? You have to think about what is causing this paralysis of motivation. Are you afraid to make a change in your routine? Did you have a bad experience in your past that was unsuccessful? Maybe low-self worth?
If you say to yourself over and over again, “Change in my routine is painful and scary,” you will never feel motivated to get the things you want. You will stay stuck in your routine. But if you say to yourself, “I am scared to change my routine but I am excited to see what opportunities may knock on my door,” now you have a fighting chance because you are thinking with positivity. And, you will physically feel this.
Our mind controls our reactions. This is my philosophy. The Law of Attraction which states, “you will attract anything into your life you focus on.” Like attracts like. So if you focus your mind on a positive solution you will attract and feel a positive reaction. And, it feels good.
Here is a thought. Take one small step at a time. Think of something you want to do at home, something that will make you happy when you are finished and say to yourself, “I will focus on the positive because positive thoughts bring positive reactions.”
I know you will have success.
Warmly,
Honey
Jane Asks:
Dear Honey,
Where do you shop?
– Jane
Dear Jane,
I do not shop online. I would like too but I don’t want to be bothered sending items back and having our credit card charged and then credited. I do like the following sites because I admire the stylish clothes and accessories. Matchesfashion, Net-a-Porter, 1stdibs Moda Operandi and The Real Real. On second thought, I would buy handbags I first saw in a store. But, as of yet, I have not dipped my toes in the online shopping water.
I love to shop in Boutiques. I like small and quiet places where I can think about my selections and know I am not a number. I do like Neiman’s and Saks for makeup and jewelry. My favorite boutiques are Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Armani, Tom Ford, and Channel of yesteryear, Jill Sanders and Sonia Rykiel. My favorite jewelry is Ippolita, Hermes and my love is Van Cleef and Arpel.
Lastly, I am not a big-time shopper because my life is filled with more pressing responsibilities. I drop in rather than plan a day of shopping. I save my clothes forever and a day but I must admit I love every type of product that is extraordinary from a red toaster to a Van Cleef watch I have been drooling over for five years.
I have a lot of information in my head about design and designers in most fields so if you need me just call out my name…
Warmly,
Honey
Kathy Asks:
Dear Honey,
I love your hair. Do you use a secret product on your ends to get the perfect color?
– Kathy
Dear Kathy,
Most women often go to their hairdresser. I don’t because I can’t. I have not been to my hairdresser, Colette, since the end of last October because I am in California and she is in Chicago. I am in desperate need. I have long hair so I am able to easily wash it, blow-dry it, and use a hot iron.
I also trim my hair with my kitchen scissors when it feels too long! I switch on and off between two brands of shampoo and cream rinse for gray hair; Moroccan Oil from my Salon and Jhirmack Silver Brightening Shampoo and Cream Rinse from Walgreens.
Hope this helps!
Warmly,
Honey
Marie Asks:
Dear Honey
What kind of dog do you have? Is that a Wheaten Terrier?
– Marie
Dear Marie,
Yes, you are correct. America is a Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier. He weighs 30-some pounds and does not shed. If every person in the world had his disposition the world would be a much better place. If you are searching for a Wheaten or any of your friends are, I can help you.
I had a very hard time finding another Wheaton after our last Wheaton pooch, Orchid, passed away. I spent so much time writing letters with no luck. Now I know the drill and would feel blessed to help.
Warmly,
Honey
