I don’t know about you, but when spring arrives, I am ready to step out in an eye-catching floral dress. The swishier, the better, I say. Don’t you remember twirling in dresses as a girl? I used to love to let them swish around me and it’s still a delight!

Pair your dress with a pair of strappy, platform sandals. And don’t forget to paint your toenails a bright color to match your sunny disposition. The 2nd most important accessory? Your favorite spring lipstick.

I chose to purchase a midi floral skirt “with swish” and a top of the same pattern. This gives me more versatility. Could wear them together similar to a dress or mix and match other tops or bottoms of a solid color found in the floral print. As many of the tops which are in fashion may show some of our midriff skin I wear a solid color camisole underneath. The one I purchased at Anthropology has a V neck on one side and a round neck on the other.

About 14 years ago I encountered a delightful elfin face kindergartner on her first day of school. She had a dress on that was just made for twirling! I asked her if she wanted to twirl for me, and of course she did! I followed the progress of this young girl until she graduated high school. She celebrated Halloween trick or treating by collecting money for a children’s hospital. She volunteered to help children with disabilities. In her teens she worked with young adults with disabilities. She’s now in her second year of college and is on a path to become a special education teacher.
Did her joy of twirling have anything to do with her path? I just know that the joy she showed at the young age of 5 was just who she was !
