Happy 4th of July!
The 4th of July marks the day of our independence from the British Empire. It is the annual celebration of our Nationhood that commemorates the passage of the Declaration of Independence in 1776.
Over the past year and some months, you, I, and the rest of the world have had to process several unexpected upheavals. COVID-19, lockdowns, masks, loss, isolation from our family, financial hardship, politicians and politics, the damning of America and her citizens by the elite and not elite for personal gain, upheaval in our schools and universities, the destruction of cities and monuments of great leaders, and the acknowledgment our freedoms are slowly being taken away…
Darling, we were facing upheavals we never dreamed of experiencing. To say the least it has been a turbulent time.
Now during this turbulent time, I renamed the United States of America, ELSEWHERE, because I could no longer comprehend what was taking place in my beloved country. All of the above disruptions in our lives are too great to ignore. I continue, like you, to process all the events.
Speaking Out
Americans are beginning to open their eyes and see the writing on the wall. They are finally opening their mouths to speak out against woke, social media discrimination, defunding our police, Black Lives Matter, racial divide, government, the press, and the denouncing of America and Americans and burning of the American flag.
There is so much to be grateful for. So much good is in front of our eyes; our independence, opportunity for all, religious freedom, a melting pot of peoples from around the world, Abraham Lincoln who ended slavery, Martin Luther King who had a dream, Betsy Ross who saved the American flag, Jonas Salk who discovered the cure for polio, the settlers who fought for this land, the Indian Nations, black history, and let us never forget democracy.
As Americans, we have had time to process what is taking place in the land of the free and the brave. Many of us now understand democracy is at stake and therefore we are facing a crisis…the choice between living in a free society where the citizens have choices or in a socialist or communist-controlled country where the government decides the citizen’s fate.
I am beginning to hear Americans speak out; transitioning from a state of fear and flux to taking action.
A Celebration of America
Last night my Ultimate Concierge and I attended the 4th of July Millennium Park Outdoor Concert. I was overjoyed to see the park packed with proud and joyful Americans waving their small American flags the park gave out, applauding and cheering the orchestra that played American songs and the song of each branch of our military.
Americans are no longer in a conflicted state! They are opposing the new normal. And, they are up to the challenge of preserving Life, Liberty, and The Pursuit of Happiness.
Last night at the festival, there was an adrenaline rush in the air. I thought of my grandfathers who successfully escaped communist countries for the shores of the United States of America. I thought of friends of mine who left their communist countries so they could live in freedom.
You and I and every American owe a debt of gratitude to our relatives and forefathers who had the will to escape their country to live in a country that believes in independence and liberty for all, The United States of America.
Have a wonderful holiday and God bless, America.
