#10 THE DO’S AND DON’TS OF BEING A GOOD MOTHER-IN-LAW

This post has some insight and real tips you can put into action.

“I was widowed and I remarried, therefore, I had the experience of dealing with two mothers-in-law. They both had sharp tongues. My first mother-in-law should have been written up in the Guinness Book of World Records under the “worst of the worst.” And darling, I am not saying this tongue in cheek!”

#8 WHAT IT REALLY MEANS TO ‘TAKE THE HIGH ROAD’— AND WHY YOU SHOULD!

This post is actually from 2017, but still gets many reads. You could say this is information that will never be out of fashion.

“For all my readers I would like you to discuss with your children (it is never too late) and your grandchildren the true meaning of “take the high road” because dealing with problems in our families, the workplace and our relationships is an ongoing part of all of our lives. I plan to do the same. Our children and our grands have their lives ahead of them. Let’s pass this gift on. It is better than anything money can buy.”

#7 5 WAYS TO LOVE SOMEONE EVEN WHEN IT’S HARD

“How do you love someone when it’s tough to do so? I thought long and hard about how to answer. In truth, we meet people who rub us the wrong way. Most incidents are easily resolved, some are never resolved and then there are those people we love even when it is a challenge.”

THE TOOLS I USED TO SURVIVE WIDOWHOOD

“In one split second in my 40’s, I was no longer Mrs. Michael A. Forman. I was a widow. My late husband, also in his 40’s, had suddenly passed away from an unexpected heart attack.

The day of Michael’s funeral is a blur. I don’t recall the Rabbi’s words. I do not remember how I arrived or left Michael’s funeral.

Similarly, I don’t know who put a lifesaving paperback book in my hand at the end of the service. The book became my savior as I began a new passage, a new journey back to life.”

Dating Over 50 — What to Do When the Relationship Ends

“Almost everyone has this experience at least once. Life can be challenging and none of us gets through it without a few bruises. Unfortunately, heartache is part of the deal.

If you’re going through this right now, first of all, I’m sorry and I’m sending you love. I know how it is and I’ve been there.”

#3 TIPS FOR DEALING WITH DIFFICULT FRIENDS AND WHY YOU SHOULDN’T GIVE UP ON THEM

All of my stories come from my past and present experiences. Here is the latest one…”

#2 THE RULES OF GOOD CONVERSATION

“My ultimate concierge and I love to converse with one another. We live an active lifestyle and have had opportunity after opportunity to speak with people from all walks of life. We know a thing or two about good conversation.

All of us, darlings, have had a myriad of conversations, playing on all of our emotions.

Conversation is what makes and breaks relationships. Though we are women over 50, we can continue to learn the rules of good conversation.”

This was a post that was difficult to write but so important to share. It has resonated with many.

“I am sharing this deeply personal experience in honor of World Mental Health Day. My hope is that if you too have experienced the heartbreak of the estrangement of an adult child or grandparent estrangement, you will understand that you are not alone. In fact, sweet reader, you will find that many others are sharing in your grief. We need not be silent. Nor should we be ashamed. Though it is not easy, we can come to a place of acceptance.”
