How to Have That ‘Moxie’ Feeling and Attitude After 50+

Today’s musing was written by the sweet Paisley Hansen. Paisley is a freelance writer and expert in health, fitness, beauty, and fashion. Today she talks about how to have that ‘Moxie’ feeling and attitude after 50+.

How to Have That 'Moxie' Feeling and Attitude After 50+

When 50 hits, it can feel like a huge weight on you. Physically, your body isn’t in peak condition anymore. You also start to notice wrinkles and other signs of aging. If you don’t want the process to continue, you don’t have to. If you take the right actions, you can feel great, even at 50 and beyond.

Here are some tips for a moxie woman to look and feel great after 50+!

Exercise

If you want to keep your body young, you need to work out and work out often. The activity will help maintain a healthy body as well as keeping you limber. If you can, get to the gym or out and about at least once a day (if not more if you can).

Exercise doesn’t always have to be high intensity, you can always try things like yoga or Zumba. You can also find ways to exercise during your regular routine. Jog a little bit when you take the dog out or play tag with the grands at the park.

Diet

The things that you eat play a large role in your energy levels and your health. You should make a point to eat items full of nutritious vitamins and protein. Stock up the fridge with fruits, vegetables, and lean meats. If you are not getting the nutrients you need, you should look into different supplements. There are systems available designed to give you everything you need to stay energetic, healthy, and young. For more ideas, research the Mediterranean diet, Keto, and of course, you can always visit a nutritionist.

Plastic Surgery

Plastic surgery or similar procedures can be a very hot topic. However, many women (and men) chose to get a procedure when something problematic for you simply can’t be fixed without a little help from a doctor. If you have severe wrinkles or sagging body parts, you can get a consultation with a plastic surgeon. Talk to them about what you would like to improve. Together, you and your doctor can come up with a plan that will make you come out of surgery feeling your best. Some of the most popular surgeries are facelifts, breast lifts and reductions, rhinoplasties, and liposuction.

If you’re worried about surgery, you can always opt for non-invasive options. A popular option for many women these days is cosmetic fillers. Fillers are injections that are placed just under your skin’s surface. They are used to plump up your skin, creating a youthful effect by smoothing out any wrinkles or fine lines you may have. Treatment is usually very quick-lasting about an hour- and has beautiful, natural-looking results.

Good Skin Care Routine

You cannot minimize the importance of a good skincare routine. You should care for your skin every single day. Start with a face wash for the morning. Look for items with the product retinol in them. You should also use makeup designed to help improve the look of your skin. You should also remove your makeup and wash your skin every night. On top of that, you should moisturize and use eye cream. When you go out into the sun, you should be very mindful to apply sunscreen regularly. You may also want to wear a hat for protection. Sun can dry your skin out and cause wrinkles. Even more serious, it can cause skin cancer.

On top of creating a good skincare routine at home, you could also look into treating yourself with a relaxing facial every once in a while. Most spas can create a custom facial to suit your skin’s needs. They are also able to add treatments, such as galvanic or high frequency, to your facial that will help fight the signs of aging. Aside from facials, spas can offer a chemical peel treatment which is great for younger-looking skin. A chemical peel works by applying a chemical solution to your skin. This then helps to shed the top layer of dead skin and reveals new skin and increases collagen production. Consider talking to an esthetician to find out what treatment may be right for you.

Get Regular Checkups

Looking and feeling your best means taking care of your health. You should get an annual physical with your doctor. They can make you aware of any issues regarding your health. For example, if you have high blood pressure, a doctor can catch it before it is life-threatening. You can take action to lower your blood pressure and prevent a serious problem. If you fail to care for your health, you will age a lot once you get sick.

50 does not mean the end of your beauty and vibrancy. You can still look and feel amazing. Now, it will require significantly more work than when you were young. It is more important than ever to care for your health, eat the right things, and exercise. You also need to be careful about your skincare routine. Finally, never forget that you have the option of calling a plastic surgeon or doing something a little more invasive. Whatever you decide, this is your life and you are a GRANDwoman with moxie! You deserve to look and feel great.
