Darlings,
I have often written that December is my favorite month of the year. It is the month of giving and sharing and loving. December is also the month my ultimate concierge and I were married, 28 years ago. We celebrated our anniversary a few days ago, on December 22nd.
My ultimate concierge, Sheldon F. Good, and I met for the first time on a beautiful sunny day. It was November 16th, 1990. His first words to me were, “I feel like I know you.”
He didn’t.
He took me to brunch at a beautiful restaurant. Upon arrival he told the maitre d’, “I’d like a room for two.”
He wasn’t trying to be cute. It was a slip of the tongue.
Two hours later, he told me he was going to marry me! He was serious. This was not a slip of the tongue.
My reaction… my little heart went pitter patter.

I have travelled to Beijing and other places in China three times. Two of our grandchildren studied in Beijing for a year each. My first trip was in the late 80’s when Beijing and Shanghai were authentic. Back two times more and now these cities are almost like New York!!!! Happy to see you have such a special career.
