My Valentine’s gift to you in 2022 is a new land, the opposite of Elsewhere. Its name: Freedom Reign.

I am going to write about Freedom because it is important for you to be positive, inspirational, and strong. You are living in a time where you have to retrain yourself to be your best. You are all in a jam. We all are.

For the past several months I have been writing about the oppressive land of Elsewhere. Our home for the time being. This awful place has been trying to rob us of our power, stripping us of our bravery through fear tactics. Fortunately, the strong citizens of Elsewhere are rearing their heads and saying enough. Our good deeds, our love of a United States of America, and our numbers will rise up and bring back a sense of equilibrium.     

WON’T YOU BE MY VALENTINE?

You are not a bionic woman or Superwoman. You should not have to be. But you must be. If you are living in a state of fear over the state of the world, handle it by using your intelligence. Have no fear speaking out against what is wrong with our country. You have your children and grands to consider.  

We are women 50+…let us roar out fearlessly the truth about Elsewhere to our children, our grands, our contemporaries, our acquaintances. 

We have one another for inspiration. I think about the many times I’ve sought the help of other women. Let’s be one another’s Valentines. Write me your stories; your thoughts.  

I believe Freedom will return with regulated social media. Politicians elected interested in their constituents; not in growing their pocketbooks. Respect for our flag and our Constitution. A press corps that reports honest news ( from my mouth to God’s ear). Citizens who speak out and erase the word fear from their thoughts. Who are proud to place their hand over their heart and sing the Star Spangled Banner and God Bless America.

LET’S START RECLAIMING OUR LIVES IN FREEDOM     

This year, I am going to write about topics that look forward not backward.  

The excitement of traveling with partners or with our adult children and grands. And, let’s not forget traveling alone. Think of the new friends you may make. 

Let us also consider home decor…let’s spruce up our homes or consider downsizing or moving to warm weather.  I am resurfacing our kitchen granite countertops. We are adding a fireplace ( not real) in the den in our condo-in-the-sky. And we are planning a trip to Florida to ‘look around.’

And, gardening, workouts and beauty, and of course, style. 

Not to mention, with February on the calendar…relationships and love and new beginnings and dealing with loss, too. And, looking our best because we love ourselves is a big priority. Right?

I know we are living in difficult times. We cannot nor should not go off in la la land and pretend. But difficult times and disappointments are a positive because they build up our power of resilience. Teach this to your grandchildren. 

Well, I am off to get ready for my Pilates class. Rain, wind, or snow…I never miss… because I am a very, very positive and resilient woman. 

Amen. I will be writing about Freedom…
