A Three-Minute Read That Will Teach You To Listen To Your Inner Self

Let’s face it, darlings, we don’t take the time to listen to the wisdom of our inner voice because it is natural for us to turn our attention outward.

The plentiful feedback of others is natural. We often listen to others opinions and advice. During our youth and middle age, most of us aim to please and be accepted.

As a woman, now over 50, it should be a pleasure to refuse to acknowledge someone or something as having authority over your inner self. Trust listening to your authentic self because it represents all that is true about you, including your needs, your capabilities, and your uniqueness.

How to Listen to Your Inner Self

Trust The Physical Feeling Of Your Heart.  I often write, ‘the heart knows.’ It is your inner-self giving you a sign; fear, excitement, sadness, relief, and joy.

Trust Your Gut.  Butterflies, gurgling, and that sick feeling are signs that your inner voice is sending you a message.

Don’t Depend on Self-Help Articles And Books. It is much more important to pay attention to your inner voice.

We Have A Sixth Sense. It is our intuition. Haven’t you felt a signpost, I call it serendipity, leading you to question this or that or that joyful feeling of knowing you chose the right path?

Trust The “You” In You. It is important to note that there will be times when our inner voice tells us to reach out to others for a thousand and one different needs. But ultimately, the buck should stop with you; listen to your inner self.

Trusting yourself to listen to your inner voice allows you to move forward beyond the opinions of others; from my personal experience, this is self-defining, powerful and rewarding.
