Why you should consider wearing fishnets after 50

Who wears fishnets after 50? Me, dear readers. I wear fishnets after 50 and I’m here today to tell you that you can too.

Fishnets have been back in style for a bit now and just because it’s a “sexy” look doesn’t mean it can’t be incorporated in a chic way to your own style. Don’t be afraid! Here’s how to wear the fishnet look after 50.

How to wear fishnets after 50

Layer the fishnets

I never wear fishnets by themselves. I layer them over nude pantyhose. My nylons of choice are Wolford (you can get them here for $49). My fishnets of choice are also Wolford. They come in a variety of styles and colors. I own them in nude, cranberry, black and grey. The look is more modest and offers more coverage when they are layered.  t

Buy colorful or patterned fishnets

Sure black is a classic fishnet look, but there are so many beautiful colors and patterns on the market! Think of fishnet stockings as another accessory, an added pop of glam to your look.

Wear fishnets with pants

I know what you are thinking… What is the point of fishnets if no one can see them? Well they CAN see them, darlings. It’s an unexpected look that will take pants and a blouse to the next level if you are wearing a pair of fishnets with pumps. It’s subtle, but eye-catching. Brands are even making fishnet socks instead of tights to achieve this look.

Right: Falke Fishnet Socks in Black – Buy it here: $20 | Net-a-porter

Or a mid-length skirt

If your pantyhose aren’t going to give you the coverage you want your skirt can. Mid-length skirts are also on trend for the fall season, so pairing fishnets with a feminine or flirty mid-length skirt could be a great look for a night out.

Get a tight “net”

A smaller pattern of fishnet will also mean more coverage. I think you would be amazed by everything on the market.

Wear fishnet not on your legs

Darlings, what if the fishnet wasn’t stockings! What the netting does is just add texture and a cool graphic element to a look. It doesn’t have to be revealing!

I buy my fishnets from nordstrom. The have the nylon woven right into the fishnet. I have been wearing them for about 15 years. I also wear the o black ones with the seam up the back. I always get great comments on my stockings.

Nice read, I just passed this onto a colleague who was doing a little research on that. And he actually bought me lunch as I found it for him smile So let me rephrase that: Thanks for lunch!

  5. My spouse and I unquestionably love your site and find the majority of the articles to be exactly what I’m interested in. Do you offer guest writers to create material for you? I would not mind publishing a story relating to entry level conservation jobs australia or maybe on most of the topics you are writing about on this site. Cool place!

Thank you for your compliment. Please feel free to write a story of your choice remembering that your audience is for women over 50. I would like that. Please send your story to editor@www.honeygood.com. If the entry level conservation jobs, Austrailia is asking for jobs we don’t allow that. But stories on topics for women will be just fine.
